IRAN SEEKS INVESTMENT IN ARMENIAN COOPER MINES

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran’s Copper Industries Company Deputy for Planning
and Development Ahmad Faridi said Iran is in talks with Armenia for
investment in copper mines in the country.
Northern Armenia owns discovered 450 million tones of copper reserves
and it is likely to have additional 650 million tones of the mineral
material, he said in an interview with Iranian Students News Agency
(ISNA).
During negotiations Armenia agreed to provide Iran with copper
concentrate from its southern mines by the end of 2011, Faridi said.
Yerevan has welcomed Tehran’s offer for investment and the two sides
are to make final agreement soon, he said.
