A protest against Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s visit
to Armenia will be staged outside the headquarters of the Armenian
president’s administration in Yerevan on Wednesday, a spokesman for
the Mitk analytical center told Interfax.

The action’s organizers, who are representatives of the Mitk center,
will demand that Saakashvili "grant the status of Georgia’s state
language to the Armenian language in Javakhk [Samtskhe-Javakheti,
a predominantly Armenian region within Georgia], begin investing in
the region and end excessive checks on the border between Javakhk
and Armenia."

The Georgian president and his wife Sandra Roelofs are to arrive in
Yerevan on Wednesday for a two-day official visit at the invitation
of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
