PRIME MINISTER OF ARMENIA: AGARAK COPPER AND MOLYBDENUM PLANT WILL NO LONGER HAVE ARREARS OF WAGES

ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said Agarak copper
and molybdenum plant will no longer have arrears of wages.
The premier visited the plant as part of the government visiting
session in Suynik no June 26. Thus, the government adopted a decision
to provide Agarak copper and molybdenum plant with a $14 million
budgetary loan. ‘The company leadership assured the government that
the arrears of wages will be covered as soon as the loan is received
and no new arrears will be accumulated. In addition, we have agreed
that the number of employees at the plant will not be reduced below 900
people in the period of global crisis. The loan is provided taking into
account the number of employees – 900 people’, the premier said. He
said the arrears for May and June will be covered within some 2
weeks. At present the monthly labor costs of the plant is $450,000.
