The situation established in Iran following the last presidential
elections does not hinder the implementation of joint Armenian-Iranian
projects, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seid Ali Saghaian
told a press conference in Yerevan today.

The construction of the railway and the Iran-Armenia oil pipeline is
under way, the Iranian Ambassador assured, adding that experts will
soon visit Armenia, and all the construction works will be completed.

The Ambassador did not rule out that Armenian Silva Harutyunyan jailed
in Iran might be granted pardon.

Iran attaches importance to its relations with Armenia and feels
great respect for Iranian Armenians, Ambassador Seid Ali Saghaian
stated. He added that Iran welcomes all the initiatives that will
lead to the reinforcement of stability and peace in the region.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
