ENQA GRANTS CANDIDATE MEMBER STATUS TO ANQA (ARMENIA)

YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/.The Executive Board of the European Association
for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) granted a candidate
member status to the Armenian National Centre for Professional
Education Quality Assurance Foundation (ANQA).
The press service of the RA Ministry of Education reports that the
new status will allow ANQA to establish official relations with
its counterparts in European countries, take part in ENQA-organized
events and be fully informed of the latest education quality assurance
initiatives.
ENQA President Bruno Curvale was on a working visit to Armenia at
ANQA’s invitation on June 27-28. The aim of the visit was to assess
the potential, effectiveness of ANQA’s current work and previously
elaborated documents.
During their meetings the sides discussed ANQA’s strategic program and
mission, as well as the relevant statutory acts. Mr. Curvale pointed
out ANQA’s effective activities during the first few months. According
to him, the Center made professional progress – both its mission and
strategy were specified.
The sides reached an agreement to expand cooperation.
In 2005, Armenia acceded to the Bologna Declaration. On November 2,
2006, the Armenian Government approved a schedule of exercising the
principles of the Bologna process.
