ArmInfo. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received Russian President’s
Representative for Culture and Social Affairs, ex-minister of culture
of Russia Mikhail Shvidkoy, Ambassador of Armenia to Russia Armen
Smbatyan and Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bubuloghlu
on Friday.
Afterwards, Mikhaeil Shvidkoy told media "they have gathered to help
the Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples understand what is taking place in
the relations of these states." "We cannot interfere into the military
and political negotiations of our presidents. It is a very important
aspect of settlement of the relations of Armenia an Azerbaijan which
we do not want to interfere into being representatives of culture. It
is very important for us to do everything to help neighbor peoples
feel that there is no alternative to coexistence and respect", he
said. M. Shvidkoy is sure that there are many psychological problems
in the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
"Armenians and Azerbaijani do not trust in each other and their
relations are very tense. Nevertheless, the men of culture are able
to do everything to change this atmosphere," he said.
