DEPUTY TRANSPORT MINISTERS OF IRAN, RUSSIA AND ARMENIA TO DISCUSS ISSUES OF PREPARATION FOR CONSTRUCTION OF IRAN-ARMENIA RAILWAY

ArmInfo. The deputy transport ministers of Iran, Russia and Armenia
will discuss issues of preparation for construction of Iran-Armenia
railway within the format of specially created working group,
Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Gourgen Sargsyan
told journalists, Thursday. The working group will hold its first
sitting in July. He recalled that negotiations on receiving a grant
for elaboration of feasibility study are being held with the Asian
Development Bank (ADB). Next week the ADB mission will arrive in
Yerevan to complete the negotiations. According to experts, it will
take no less than 5 years to build the Iran-Armenia railway. The
project is preliminarily estimated at $1,5-2 bln.
