AFTER WELL-KNOWN EVENTS IN UKRAINE NO INCIDENT CONNECTED WITH ANY ARMENIAN RECORDED

YEREVAN, JULY 9, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. No incident connected
with any Armenian was recorded after the events of the city of
Marganets in the Ukrainain Dnepropetrovsk region on June 28-29. The RA
Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Noyan Tapan about this on July 8.

According to the official source, the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Armenia to the Ukraine Armen Khachatrian met
the First Deputy Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs M. Klyuyev,
expressed concern and trouble with the events. M. Klyuyev assured
the Armenian diplomat that the situation is controlled by the police
divisions. The Armenian Ambassador also met Deputy Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the Ukraine K. Yeliseyev, and an agreement was reached
to hold a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Ukraine
with the participation of the Armenian Embassy and the respective
structures. Meetings with the Ethnic Minorities Committee and the
representatives of the law enforcement bodies also took place. Now
the dates of A. Khachatrian’s visit to Dnepropetrovsk region are
being made clear.

The RA Foreign Ministry also reported that two criminal cases were
filed with murder and hooliganism signs on the occasion of the events
that occurred in the city of Marganets. Two actions of protest took
place in the city, the participants of the which demanded calling to
account those guilty.

To recap, police officer Sergei Bonadarenko, who was not on duty
at the moment, was killed and two Armenians were injured gravely
during the conflict, which took place on domestic ground in the city
of Marganets on June 28. Anti-Armenian activities took place in the
city in consequence of the incident.
