ARMENIA AND ITALY SHARE COMMON HISTORY AND MUTUAL SYMPATHY

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ President Serzh Sargsyan has today received newly
appointed Italian Ambassador Bruno Scapini. Congratulating the
diplomat on his nomination, President Sargsyan expressed hope that
he would carry out effective work towards developing and deepening
Armenian-Italian relations. Stressing Armenia’s interest in broadening
multi-aspect cooperation with Italy, Sargsyan said that parties’ mutual
desires, common history and values constituted a solid foundation for
that. In addition, President noted that Armenian-Italian cooperation
also had good perspectives in multi-lateral format. In his turn,
Ambassador Scapini stressed the importance of mutual sympathy and
warm relations, saying that he would invest all possible efforts for
strengthening cooperation and creating new opportunities. As priority
trends, he emphasized the importance of promoting trade-economic
relations and high-level official visits. Touching upon regional
issues, President Sargsyan welcomed Italy’s balanced approach to
sensitive regional problems, reiterating Armenia’s determination to
resolve existing problems in peaceful manner. In his turn, Scapiani
expressed willingness to assist in peace processes, RA President’s
press service reports.
