NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF ITALY TO ARMENIA B.SKAPINI HANDS HIS CREDENTIALS TO THE ARMENIAN PRESIDENT

YEREVAN, JULY 9, ARMENPRESS: Newly appointed Ambassador of Italy to
Armenia Bruno Skapini handed today his credentials to the Armenian
President Serzh Sargsian.
Presidential Press Office told Armenpress that the President of
the republic congratulated the diplomat on the post assumption and
expressed hope that the years of his activity will be efficient from
the viewpoint of development and enhancement of Armenian-Italian
relations.
Pointing out to the Armenia’s engagement to expand the multilateral
partnership with Italy the President Sargsian regarded the mutual wish,
historical generalities and values the two states are guided by as a
firm bases for it. According to him the Armenian-Italian partnership
has a good development prospects also in the multilateral format.
Ambassador Skapini stressed the importance of the tradition of
Armenian-Italian mutual sympathy and warm relations and said he will
do his best to consolidate the existing cooperation and to establish
new opportunities.
The Ambassador stressed the promotion of trade-economic relations
and intensification of high level mutual visits.
The interlocutors have also discussed regional issues.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsian welcomed the balanced position
of Italy towards the sensitive issues of our region. The head of
the state once more stressed the determination of Armenia to settle
the existing issues in a peaceful way noting that there are all the
necessary prerequisites for it.
Ambassador B. Skapini noted that Italy permanently offers its
assistance towards the process aimed at peace.
Whishing success to the newly appointed Ambassador the RA President
Serzh Sargsian said he starts his activity in a state which does not
have rich natural resources but has a great historical and cultural
heritage, desire to live with European standards and a good will to
regulate the relations with the neighbors.
