SYRIAN PRESIDENT REFUSES TO VISIT ‘ALLEY OF SHEHIDS’

ArmInfo. Syrian president has refused to visit .

As some mass media reported, according to the state protocol of
Azerbaijan, visiting of the Baku ‘Alley of Shehids’ was involved
in the programme of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s visit to
Baku. Soldiers that died over the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against
Nagornyy Karabakh were buried at the Alley. But the president refused
to visit the cemetery in this way demonstrating solidarity with
Armenia in the matter of Nagornyy Karabakh conflict settlement. To
recall, President Assad visited Armenia in June and expressed his
supporting the principle of the peoples self-determination. He said
in Baku that Syria has good relations with the Azerbaijani as well
as Armenian party to the conflict and it may contribute in resolving
of the Karabakh conflict.
