Moscow may hold tripartite summit on Nagornyy Karabakh in mid-July – Kremlin
L’Aquila, 9 July: Moscow is likely to host an informal summit of the
Russian, Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents [Dmitriy Medvedev, Serzh
Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev] on Nagornyy Karabakh in the middle of July,
Russian presidential aide Sergey Prikhodko said on Thursday [9 July].
"We are working on the preparation of such a meeting in Moscow. We
suppose it will take place in the middle of July. The probability of
such a meeting is very high," he said.
"The informal meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents in St
Petersburg, as well as the previous tripartite meeting in Moscow, are
yielding results. The efforts that Russia as the co-chair on Nagornyy
Karabakh has been making and the results that had been reached earlier
in Moscow are needed," the aide said.
"We hope that the new meeting will discuss further steps towards a
settlement as soon as possible," Prikhodko said.
