Croatian football champion Dinamo Zagreb defeated Armenian champion
Pyunik by a score of 3-0 yesterday (Tues) at Maksimir stadium in
Zagreb.

The win over Pyunik advances Dinamo to the third leg of the Champions
League first qualifying round. Dinamo’s next rival will be Irish
Bohemians or Red Bull Salzburg.

Mario Mandzukic scored for Dinamo in the 30th minute, followed by
Milan Badelj and Dejan Lovren.

The first game with Pyunik was a goal-less draw in Yerevan.

Dinamo had to play in an empty stadium because UEFA had punished
Dinamo in that manner for its fans’ use of pyrotechnics during the
3 December 2008 game with Udinese in Udine.

Dinamo was the first Croatian club to play a home game without any
fans in attendance.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
