WILL SAHAKYAN’S SONS GO TO WAR?

On July 24, reporters asked the head of the Republican Party, Galust
Sahakyan if the sons of the representatives of the Armenian elite would
go to war to fight for their motherland in case Azerbaijan declares a
war. The reporters asked whether his own sons will go to fight, one of
which is a parliamentary member now.
`If you ask any Armenian today, they will answer they will’, Galust
Sahakyan evaded answering.
When reporters stated that there are people, who honestly say that they
will not, Galust Sahakyan tried to save the nation’s dignity.
`I do not think there are such people. Our nation has always been a
hero. There may be betrayers, but the heroes will be more’, answered
Galust Sahakyan.
Reporters stated that there may be heroes within the nation, but not
within political parties.
`Party is just a means. I do not agree to compare national values with
parties. Parties cannot replace national ideology’, responded Galust
Sahakyan.
