KARABAKH TRUSTS SERZH SARGSYAN IN THE NEGOTIATIONS

Members of the Public Council of Armenia recently visited
Stepanakert. The process of negotiations on the Karabakh settlement
and the Madrid Principles were at the core of discussions.

"We noticed that the NKR authorities unambiguously trust Serzh Sargsyan
in the negotiations. This is a very important factor. Trusting Serzh
Sargsyan and becoming a party to the talks do not contradict each
other. I would rather say they supplement each other," said Khosrov
Harutyunyan, President of the Christian Democratic Union and member
of the Public Council.

According to him, the common citizens in Karabakh are also calm. There
are, however, certain concerns, especially connected with the Madrid
Principles.

"There are certain things that cannot be ceded, and this is connected
with the security of both Armenia and Karabakh," Khosrov Harutyunyan
said.

The issue of return of refugees is also worrisome. "First, it can
get out of control. Second, Azerbaijanis that will return to Karabakh
will rapidly change the demographic situation in the country."
