YEREVAN, JULY 31, NOYAN TAPAN. Starting from August 1, 2009, taxis
with a yellow number plate can freely cross the Armenian-Georgian
border. NT was informed by Susanna Tonoyan, Spokeswoman for the RA
Minister of Transport and Communication that this agreement was
reached between the respective departments of the two countries,
taking into account the proposals of taxi service providers.
There are currently licensed 563 organizations providing taxi services
and 605 private businessmen providing such services in Armenia.
