Armenian President Participated In Informal Summit Of CSTO Member Co

ARMENIAN PRESIDENT PARTICIPATED IN INFORMAL SUMMIT OF CSTO MEMBER COUNTRIES

ArmInfo. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan participated in an informal
summit of CSTO member countries in Kirghizia on July 31.

The Armenian presidential press-service told ArmInfo that the
presidents of Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kirghizia, Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan also took part in the summit. During the summit held at
the cutlutal- ethnographic center "Rukh-Ordo" on the shore of Lake
Issyk Kul, the heads of the CSTO member countries exchanged their
opinions on issues related to the zone of CSTO responsibility and
operative problems of international security, as well as issues of
information policy.

The informal meeting was followed by a press-conference of Kirghiz
President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. According to him, a open and constructive
dialogue was held concerning issues of the CSTO responsibility zone,
particularly, the issues covered religious extremism and anti-terrorism
fight. The presidents of the CSTO member countries stressed the
necessity of conducting a system-based information policy. The also
agreed to create a youth center on the share of Lake Issyk Kul.

To note, on behalf of President Bakiyev, a official dinner party was
organized in the CSTO presidents’ honor.

Serzh Sargsyan will leave Kirghizia for Orenburg region of Russian
Federation to take part in the ribbon- cutting ceremony of an Armenian
cultural complex "National village". The Armenian president will
also lay a wreath at the grave of Armenian poet Vahan Teryan, and
meet representatives of the local Armenian community.
