WASHINGTON

Colorado Governor Bill Ritter announced August 5 the day of Genocide
memory, panarmenian.net states.

"All the peoples must state that such actions are not possible in the
21st century. The Armenian Genocide, the first one in the 20th century
must be recognized for similar crimes do not repeat themselves,"
Ritter said.

"We welcome Ritter’s efforts aimed at prevention of the era of
genocides through education and action, from recognition of the
Armenian Genocide to prevention of the genocide in Sudan. Every
state can have important participation in the affair of preventing
genocides," Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of
America (ANCA) Aram Hamparian said.
