/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Turkey’s decision to reconstruct an Armenian
Church and even hoist a cross on it will not influence the process
of reconciliation between the two countries, an Armenian expert said.
"The Church will not function since it will have no flock," Sevak
Sarukhanyan, deputy director of Noravank research center, told a
PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
As to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent statement that he
will attend the football match in Turkey this October only in case
the border is open, it’s quite justified, according to him.
"It’s clear that Turkey is not going to open this border. This move
does not depend on Turkey or Europe. It depends on a "small country"
named Azerbaijan," Sarukhanyan underscored.
"Azerbaijan doesn’t stop blackmailing Turkey. That is why the
Armenian-Turkish relations see no progress," he said.
