ARMENIAN ARTIST EXHIBITS IN ISTANBUL

A retrospective of paintings by the famous Armenian conceptual artist
Sarkis Zabunyan will be opened at the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art,
September 10.

Zabunyan was born in Istanbul in 1938 but moved to France later. He
lives and works in Paris. In 1967 he was given a "Prix de la Peinture
a la Biennale de Paris" award at a biennial exhibition.

The Istanbul exhibition will present all the stages of Zabunyan’s fifty
years’ career. An audio-visual exhibition scheduled for January, 10,
2010, will start with a display of gouache paintings of 1960s to be
followed by works of the next three decades.

The visitors will also see movies which influenced the artist’s career.
