NEW HIB VACCINE TO BE USED IN ARMENIA

ArmInfo. Today the Government of Armenia decided to import a new
vaccine against HIB (Haemophilus influenzae B).
Minister of Health Care of Armenia Haroutyun Kushkyan says that the
vaccine will be supplied with the financial support of the Global
Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.
The new vaccine will be applied with respect to children born after
July 15 and children over one year old.
The vaccine is a complex preventing HIB, diphtheria, whooping cough,
tetanus and HB.
According to WHO, in the countries using the HIB vaccine the upper
respiratory infection and aseptic meningitis rate has dropped by 60%.
