The sixth round of matches in this year’s Copa Mustang II has leaders
Atletico Huila visit Cucuta Deportivo while Millonarios host Atletico
Nacional.

America de Cali open the match round on Saturday. The troubled side,
with equally troubled coach Diego Umaña, host Real Cartagena and really
need a victory in order to close on the top eight. The last meeting of
these two teams ended in a 1-0 win to Cartagena, but previous clashes
point out that the home team usually wins these encounters. In this
case, America have that advantage.

Millonarios, currently sixth on the table, host third-placed Atletico
Nacional in Bogota. Millonarios haven’t beaten Nacional since 2007
and their last home victory over the Medellin side was earned in
2006. Both sides are performing better than expected and Saturday’s
game will be an crucial moment in both teams’ seasons.

In Saturday’s remaining match, fourth-placed Independiente Medellin
host bottom-of-the-table Envigado in a regional derby.

Huila are yet to suffer a defeat this season, and have won four of
their first five matches. Even if the Armenia side lose this Sunday,
they would still certainly be in first place. Cucuta aren’t doing
quite as well, being located in 13th position. The match should be
close and the question is whether it will put an an end to Huila’s
successful streak. Bookmakers are in favor of Cucuta.

Sunday’s most attractive clash would be the match between Junior and
Deportivo Cali. The latter are in fifth place and on course for a
group phase spot, but Junior are tenth and risk missing out if their
shape doesn’t improve soon. The Barranquilla outfit has won only two
games and lost three.

Other matches on Sunday have Deportes Tolima host Once Caldas,
Deportes Quindio receive Deportivo Pasto, Boyaca Chico travel to face
La Equidad and Deportivo Pereira meet with Santa Fe

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
