ArmInfo. Despite the current tendencies, the government will continue
the policy of decentralization of construction from Yerevan to
the regions, Town Planning Minister of Armenia Vardan Vardanyan
told ArmInfo when commenting on the asymmetry of the construction
volumes in Yerevan and the regions. To note, according to the data
of the National Statistical Service of Armenia, construction volume
in Armenia for Jan-Jun, 2009 made up 124 593 mln drams, 92 143 mln
of which fell on Yerevan. construction in the Disaster Area.
Moreover, the programmes of activation of regional construction in
the various sectors were discussed during the last visiting session of
the Armenian government in Kapan. In general, about 20% of the budget
funds in the area of town planning are allocated today to Yerevan,
the rest fell on the regions. This is very important, also from the
viewpoint of employment in the regions>, the minister said.
To recall, during June 26 visiting session of the Armenian government
in Kapan (Syunik region), decisions were made on announcement of
"Tatev" tourist center in the Syunik, as well as on assignment of the
objects of special regulation of the town planning activity in the
towns of Gyumri, Vanadzor, Dilijan, Jermuk, Vagharshapat, Ashtarak,
Goris and the village communities of Tatev and Galidzor.
Talking about construction in the Disaster Area, V. Vardanyan added
that upon completion of the programme in 2013, the Ministry will start
intensive development of the housing construction programmes for the
socially vulnerable strata of the country’s population. To recall,
the government of Armenia schedules to completely solve the housing
problem of the families, suffered from 1988 earthquake, by 2013. Total
cost of the programmes makes up about 74 bln drams.
