Levon Aronyan the `victim’ of his own friend

Whatever you say nobody would expect that in the 5th round of the FIDE
`Grand Prix’ tournament taking pace in Jermuk the Armenian Grand
Master Levon Aronyan will lose the game with representative of
Uzbekistan Rustam Kasimjanov. It was unexpected and disgracing. Levon
Aronyan has commented on his loss.
`My main mistake was that I didn’t use the variant which I knew. I
mean I knew how I should play, but I believed in my friend who said
`There is nothing here too’. I knew the 19th e 6 move. You should
trust your friend indeed. It is my fault that I didn’t check it, and
in front of the chess desk couldn’t make it out any more.’
`Was the position of the black difficult after the 19 e6 move?’
`In practice, if you do not anything it is not difficult. It is a
completely normal position if you are watching from aside.’
`And was the quality concession urged?’
`I think so. But the guys who have a computer insist that it was not
compulsory. I didn’t have a computer during the game, so…’
And Rustam Kasimjanov answered Levon Aronyan saying:
It is good that you didn’t have a computer…
By the way before the launch of the tournament Levon Aronyan speaking
about his trainers had noted that he has got there a big group of
trainers in Jermuk. Naturally Armenain talented grand masters, their
friends and colleagues are gathered there and would try to assist
somehow Aronyan’s victory. But bad chance like this can also
occur… Gentlemen advise Levon only when you are sure…
Today in Jermuk will take place the 6th round of `Grand Prix’.
