YEREVAN, AUGUST 19, ARMENPRESS: 8 852 cases of fining drivers for
not fastening seat belts have been registered in the republic from
January 1 to August 1 of the running year.

Drivers are fined for 5 000 Drams. Public relations department of
the Armenian Police told Armenpress that the police has sharpened
control over fastening the belts particularly after the conformation
of the national security strategy of RA road traffic by the Armenian
government. The police officials display a serious consistency, and for
the first time the driver is warned for not fastening the seat belts,
for the second time – is fined. Besides the driver, the passengers
seating both forward and backward must fasten the seat belts as well,
if seat belts in the car are intended by factory production.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
