First Look: Al Pacino as Dr. Death

First Look: Al Pacino as Dr. Death

New York Post
August 19, 2009

It might be time for Al Pacino to look up his "Devil’s Advocate"
co-star Keanu Reeves. I’m guessing the iconic actor will be in the
market for some Lucifer-worthy legal representation now that he’s
playing the notorious Dr. Jack Kevorkian — aka Dr. Death — in "You
Don’t Know Jack."

For any readers who might think Dr. Death is just the latest Marvel
superhero to get the big screen treatment, pay attention: Jack
Kevorkian was a very controversial figure during the 1990s since he
claims to have participated in at least 130 assisted suicides.

Now, HBO is turning his life into a TV movie and Susan Sarandon is
tagging along for the ride as Janet Good, Kevorkian’s right-hand
woman. Loving the cast, loving the concept and loving that the 2010
Best Actor/Actress in a TV Movie Emmy winners are already decided —
but I am having a moment of pause over the fact that Al Pacino is
officially an old man.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
