Georgia is the first county where to the new U.S. Deputy Assistant
Secretary of State Tina Kaidanov will make her first South Caucasus
regional visit in September 2009. Georgian Vice Speaker of Parliament
Paata Davitaia has already met with Kaidanov in U.S and informed
that U.S. Diplomat will meet both with Georgian authorities and
the opposition.
"We have discussed situation in the conflict zones as well as
consequences of Russia’s agression. The 2-hour meeting was primarily
focused on analysis of situation in internal policy. Kaidanov declared
U.S. draws much attention to development democracy in Georgia and
keeps an eye on upgrading its electoral code," stated Davitaia.
"The stronger democracy in Georgia the bigger U.S. support," he
pointed out.
