FORMER UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE MARC GROSSMAN: THE NEGOTIATIONS ARE DEVELOPING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF OSCE MINSK GROUP

Baku. Zaur Hasanov – APA. Marc Grossman, former Under Secretary of
State for Political Affairs and U.S. ambassador to Turkey, delivered
a lecture on the theme "Challenges of diplomacy in the 21st century"
in the Center for Strategic Studies under the President, APA reports.
Mr. Grossman said he had met with teachers and students of several
universities, visited Sangachal terminal in Azerbaijan. Touching
on Nagorno Karabakh conflict Marc Grossman said the international
community was paying special attention to the problem and cited the
establishment of OSCE Minsk Group as an example. Speaking on the ways
of solution to the conflict the diplomat said: "Regular meetings of the
conflicting parties, particularly the Moscow meeting of Azerbaijani
and Armenian Presidents, prove that the negotiations are developing
in the right direction within the framework of the Minsk Group. But
the conflict should be solved in Baku and Yerevan, not in Washington
or Moscow."
Following this, Marc Grossman answered the questions of the
experts. Experts, representatives of media and diplomatic corps
attended the meeting.
