NEW ARMENIAN AMBASSADOR HANDS OVER COPIES OF HIS CREDENTIALS TO MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF EGYPT

CAIRO, AUGUST 24, NOYAN TAPAN. Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Egypt Armen Melkonian handed over the
copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister of Egypt Ahmed Aboul
Gheit on August 20.

During the conversation following the ceremony of handing the
credentials A.

Gheit hoped that the ambassador will contribute to the deepening and
development of Armenian-Egyptian relations during his tenure. He highly
assessed the cooperation between the two countries and underscored
the necessity of continual contacts at different levels. The Minister
also pointed out the role of the Egyptian-Armenian community both in
the domestic life of the country and in deepening Armenian-Egyptian
relations.

A. Melkonian expressed his willingness in bringing to life the
mentioned programs and further expanding the mutually beneficial
cooperation. At the request of A. Gheit he presented the last
developments in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process and
current state of Armenian-Turkish dialogue.
