/PanARMENIAN.Net/ "I do not intend to comment on the statements
by the British Ambassador in Turkey, but I can only express my
opinion. Progress in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement
is a loose concept," Alexander Iskandaryan , Armenian political
scientist, Director of Caucasus Institute said in an interview with
PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, stressing that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
and Armenian-Turkish relations are essentially different processes
with different time intervals.

According to him, the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and
Armenian-Turkish reconciliation to some extent, may affect each other,
but it is not realistic that the solution of the first problem will
allow to settle the second one.

British Ambassador to Turkey Nick Baird completing his diplomatic
mission, said in an interview to Turkish Hurriyet, that the process
of Armenian-Turkish reconciliation can be successful only after a
real progress in the Karabakh problem settlement.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
