HOVHANNES DAVTIAN WINS BRONZE MEDAL IN WORLD JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP

YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, NOYAN TAPAN. Member of Armenia’s national team
Hovhannes Davtian (60 kg, Gyumri) won a bronze medal in the World Judo
Championship that started on August 26 in the city of Rotterdam,
Holland. He beat Diego Rodrigues (Argentina), Jamshet Khalilov
(Tajikistan), Piger Yasman (Cuba), Pavel Petrikov (Czech Republic),
and Vahid Sarlak (Iran) ahead of the schedule. In the 4th round
Davtian was defeated by Hiraoka Hiroaki (Japan). Thus, he did not
pass to the final and took the third place.
