Armenia’s gross external assets grow 46.1% to $1,963.1 in q2

YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. Gross external assets of the Central Bank
of Armenia (CBA) grew by 46.1% or $619.8 million up to $1,963.1 million
in the second quarter of this year.

The CBA Press Service reported that international assets (aggregate
external assets in hard currency) alone were $1,963,073,016.09, an
increase of almost the same amount over the reporting period.

SDR in the IMF amounted to $1,192,800, a reduction of 90% or
$10,764,800 over the quarter with the reserve position in the IMF being
zero.

Net external assets totaled $1,514.5 million by the end of the
reporting period, an increase of 63.6% over the reporting period.

The bulk of this amount – $1,514,525,995.25 – was assets in hard
currency.

CBA’s gross external assets were $1,406,823,234.13 in the beginning of
2009, including international reserves amounting to $1,406,822,547.97.
SDR in the IMF were 1,899,389 or $2,925,571.09. Net external assets of
the Republic of Armenia were $1,230,837,462.53 in the beginning of the
reporting period, including $1,230,836,776.37 in hard currency.
