Artsakh celebrates its 18th anniversary of the Republic Independence.

The festive mood prevails at towns and villages of Nagorno-Karabakh
Republic, its streets are decorated with flags and are overcrowded.

>From the early morning residents are flocking to the Unknown Soldier
Monument in Stepanakert to honor soldiers that sacrificed their lives
for the independence of Artsakh.

Everyone in an interview to Aysor.am correspondent emphasized the
importance of this day.

According to one elderly Stepanakert resident "thanks to this day,
thanks to combined actions against enemy, otherwise the Armenians
would be on the verge of destruction".

The younger generation of Artsakh which haven’t had to endure the
heavy military days, recognized the importance of this day a little
bit weaker.

They note this red-letter day, they recognize their independence, but
they don’t know about the difficulties this victory passed through. In
an interview to our correspondent all of them noticed that the people
of Artsakh having found the Independence would never be under the
yoke any more.

We also pay your attention that the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan
and officials visited Stepanakert.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and President of Artsakh Bako
Sahakyan will lay wreaths on Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and then
they will visit the renovated military hospital.

The military parade and a number of festive events will certainly be
organized in the evening.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
