TURKISH, AZERI FMS DISCUSS TIES WITH ARMENIA OVER PHONE

Baku, 3 September: Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov had a telephone
conversation yesterday.

The head of the Foreign Ministry press centre, Elxan Poluxov, has
told Turan that during the telephone conversation, Elmar Mammadyarov
had once again filled in the Turkish foreign minister on Azerbaijan’s
official position in regard to Armenian-Turkish diplomatic relations.

Azerbaijan’s official position coincides with the Turkish prime
minister’s statement made in Azerbaijani parliament last May.

"As long as the Karabakh conflict has not been settled, the
normalization of relations between Ankara and Yerevan runs counter
to Azerbaijan’s interests," Poluxov said.
