Criminal cases of four policemen on using force to citizens sent to
prosecutor’s office

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. RA Special Investigation Service’s
preliminary inquest of four policemen on the case of using force to
citizens in Republic Square as well as near the market in Mashtots
street, on March 1, 2008, ended.

According to the Press Service of the RA Prosecutor General’s Office,
on the basis of the evidence gained, two police officers of Yerevan
Police Patrol and Inspection Service Division, G. Harutiunian and H.
Ghukasian were charged under part 2, Article 309 of the RA Criminal
Code for the use of violence and beating citizens with their rubber
batons in Republic Square in the morning of March 1, 2008. Officers of
RA Police Yerevan Department A. Manukian and G. Grigorian were charged
with using force to two citizens near the market in Mashtots street.
