The opening ceremony of fundamentally repaired Haroutiun Chughurian
school in the village of Khashtarak, Tavush region was held on
September 4.
The school which was built in 1973, had not been repaired so

financial support of German, French and Swiss offices of the Hayastan
All-Armenian Fund and Armenian Union of Entrepreneurs, and the new
furniture was provided by the Australian branch of the fund. The
total cost of the program was over 180m AMD (about 6.5 thousand).
3 subsidiary buildings of the school were repaired, including the
gym, assembly hall and the canteen. The school now has new furniture,
desks, chairs, bookcases, wardrobes, blackboards, as well as goods
for the laboratory of chemistry. The newly built computer classroom
has new computers and furniture. The program was funded by German Mr
and Mrs Vaydemans. The surrounding territory of the school has been
also developed.
About 350 pupils from Khashtarak, Lusahovit and Lusadzor began the
new school year with new bags and other writing materials. It was
the present of the Fund’s Great Britain’s Office to the pupils.
According to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, this year the Fund has
built a gas pipeline in Khashtarak and provided gas for 122 houses
and the aid station of the village has been repaired.
