IPU WEBSITE TO ACT IN ARMENIAN

The Union of Armenian alumni of the International Parliamentary
Scholarship of Bundestag has created a website that will act in
Armenian and German at

IPS under the slogan "in the name of a living democracy and
parliamentary traditions" has already conducted many programs aimed at
strengthening the social and democratic institutions in Armenia. Alumni
intend to use their own experience of parliamentary work and all the
ways of strengthening democratic values to improve the understanding
of democracy in Armenian society. The Union including 9 members has
spoken at National Assembly of Armenia initiating an expertise center
establishment in Parliament.

On meetings with executive government there were showcased and
discussed conceptual proposals for external information policy
of Armenia.

In addition, it is scheduled the session of alumni of IPU of South
Caucasus.

The website will also serve as a field for discussions, public debates,
implementation of new projects as well as calling in general public
into the parliamentary democrac.

The Union organizes debates on current political issues, activities
to raise political awareness among young people, as well as measures
to maximize the potential of the Armenia-Germany in the European
integration.

The program carried with funding of German Bundestag in cooperation
with Berlin Free University, Humboldt University and Technical
University, enables young alumni of 28 countries interested in politics
to receive a degree and meet the system of parliamentary management
in Germany.

According to IPU, the Armenian alumni participate in International
Parliamentary Scholarship Program since 2008.

The Union is aimed on strengthening Armenian parliamentary traditions
and deepening of international integration of Armenia.
