ArmInfo. Armenian MP Khachatur released on his own recognizance on
September 4 says he divests himself of deputy authority.
"The unprincipled position of Armenian MPs and what happened to me and
my MP colleagues as a result of unexplainable voting give me grounds
to suppose that I have nothing more to do in parliament and I don’t
imagine myself in the MP status, consequently I vacate my seat. I am
sure that my voters will welcome the given step of mine",- Khachatur
Sukiasyan says in his statement.
To recall, former deputy of the Armenian National Assembly Khachatur
Sukiasyan, who had been wanted since March 5, 2008, and surrendered
himself to law-enforcers on September 2, 2009, was released on his own
recognizance on September 4. The relevant decision was taken during the
debates at the Armenian Special Investigative Service with due regard
for the fact that on September 2 Sukiasyan voluntarily surrendered
himself to the law-enforcers.
To note, Sukiasyan was accused of being privy to organization of
mass disorders in Yerevan on March 1, 2008, when 10 people died
and hundreds of people were injured as a result of clashes between
the opposition, which disagreed with presidential election returns,
a the police troops.
