YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS: Armenian Foreign Affairs Ministry
is ready to work with the newly appointed American co-chairman of
OSCE Minsk Group Robert Bradtke, spokesman for the Armenian Foreign
Ministry Tigran Balayan said commenting with the request of Armenpress
on the appointment of R. Bradtke.
Spokesman to the NKR President Davit Babayan noted that the time will
show how the new co-chairman works. His appointment is a natural
procedure as the USA Department of State has already stated about
the replacement of Matthew Bryza.
"We are not personally acquainted with Robert Bradtke, but taking into
consideration his diplomatic experience, we can expect that he is a
well informed personality. In any case he needs time to get deeper
acquainted with the situation established round Nagorno Karabakh
conflict," D. Babayan said.
In Nagorno Karabakh the authorities expect the new co-chairman to
visit Artsakh to get acquainted with the situation at the place.
According to the statement spread by the USA Department of State
Bradtke has more than thirty-six years of Foreign Service experience
and extensive expertise in European security policy.
By July 2009 he was the Ambassador of USA to Croatia, prior to that
he served from 2001 to 2004 as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State
for European and Eurasian Affairs.
