Prime Minister Of Armenia Visits ‘Children’s Village’ In Kotayk

PRIME MINISTER OF ARMENIA VISITS ‘CHILDREN’S VILLAGE’ IN KOTAYK

ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sarkisyan has visited
a ‘children’s village’ in Kotayk region created by the Armenian
charitable Foundation ‘SOS – Children’s Villages’, the governmental
press service told ArmInfo. The prime minister was accompanied by
Head of the government staff David Sarkisyan, Minister for Labour and
Social Issues Gevorg Petrosyan, Director of ‘SOS – Children’s Villages’
Foundation Ashot Kocharyan and other officials.

In 1990, the ‘Children’s village’ received the children having become
orphans after 1988 earthquake. About 56 orphans and the children,
lacking the parents’ tutelage, live presently here. A. Kocharyan
introduced the living of the children’s village, the primary mission of
the Foundation and its achievements to the prime minister. T. Sarkisyan
surveyed the ‘Children’s village’, talked to the children and got
interested in the their living conditions and the everyday life. The
children were presented a music center.

The visit was followed by a session, during which the prime minister
offered to use the Foundation’s experience in the programmes of
tutelage of graduates from the children’s houses. T. Sarkisyan
highly appreciated the Foundation’s experience and achievements and
expressed hope that it will become possible to carry out more efficient
programmes as a result of joint programmes with the state agencies.
