On September 10, at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Yan
Dzichei, the Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan left for
Beijing on an official visit.
On September 11, a meeting of the Armenian and Chinese foreign
ministers took place. The ministers discussed thoroughly questions
relating to the activation of bilateral consultations between the
two foreign ministries as well as exchanged views on regional issues.
Edward Nalbandyan presented to his Chinese counterpart the process
of the normalization of the Armenian and Turkish relations as well
as the efforts aimed at the settlement of the Karabakh issue.
The Chinese foreign minister voiced his willingness to contribute
to the peace settlement of the conflict as well as to the efforts in
connection with the Armenian-Turkish relations.
On the same day, the vice-president of China Si Dzinpi met with
Edward Nalbandyan.
The collocutors discussed with detail a wide range of bilateral
political, economic and cultural issues.
On September 11, an agreement on providing Armenia with
technical-economic assistance from China was signed.
The Armenian foreign minister paid a visit to the Armenian embassy
to Beijing.
On September 12, Edward Nalbandyan will leave for Shanghai to hold
meetings with the committee of the Shanghai Expo 2010. The press
