/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Intensiveness of Armenian-Turkish process bears
direct relationship to US initiative on normalization of ties between
Yerevan and Ankara, political scientist Levon Shirinyan told a press
conference in Yerevan. "Neither Armenia nor Turkey is properly aware
of the process. But Ankara realizes the importance of normalizing ties
with Armenia," expert stressed. With regard to Armenia, Shirinyan finds
that Yerevan cannot but participate in a process it was involved in
upon superpowers’ initiative "Our policy and diplomacy can help Armenia
to be included in the list of countries US finds a counterbalance to
Turkey. That’s the only way towards Armenia’s future," he noted.

Turkey is currently demonstrating hysteria over the current stage of
Armenian-Turkish process since Ankara is not fully aware of everything.

With regard to recently publicized Protocols on normalization
of bilateral ties, political scientist said that Turkey broke off
relations with Armenia in 1920, so that date should serve as a starting
point for the process. "We have all chances to raise a question on
implementation of Peace Treaty of Sèvres," Levon Shrinyan said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
