HENCEFORTH MILK POWDER CONTENT TO BE INDICATED ON MILK AND DAIRY PRODUCTS MADE IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 17, NOYAN TAPAN. At the September 17 sitting, the
Armenian government made a decision, according to which information
about whether the given dairy product or milk contains milk powder
must be indicated on these products made in Armenia. RA Minister of
Agriculture Gerasim Alaverdian said a lot of milk powder is imported
into Armenia, which makes it much easier to produce milk and dairy
products by using milk powder, at the same time there are problems
with the sale of milk produced in Armenia.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said that the Ministry of Agriculture
should cooperate with NGOs protecting consumer interests so that
citizens will be well informed on this issue and can protect their
own rights.
