CSTO. FIRST JOINT COMPLEX MILITARY COMMAND EXERCISES

In 2009, in the frameworks of the CSTO is prepared the first joint
complex military command exercises for the operative groups of the
member states, CSTO secretariat, the military subdivisions and the
RRF operation subdivisions. It will be held in three stages.
The first stage has been held in Moscow in August 25 – 28 on which was
present a group of 5 from the Armenian Defense Ministry, as well as
representatives from the RA police, RA Ministry of Emergency Situations
and RA National Security Service headed by the lieutenant-general
M. Sargsyan.
The second stage will be held in the Republic of Belarus as the Belarus
and Russian operative armed forces and strategic Zapad – 2009 military
command exercises since September 26 till 29 of this year.
The RA Defense Ministry is not planning the participation of the
subdivisions of the RA Armed Forces in the second stage of the military
exercises. But a group of 4 of RA Armed Forces headed by the colonel
G. Tavaratsyan will take part in the military exercises.
At the same time according to the invitation of the Defense Minister of
Belarus colonel-general L. Maltsev the RA Defense Minister S. Ohanyan,
on September 29 will participate in the active stage of the military
exercises as an honored guest accompanied by the colonel D. Tonoyan
and the assistant of the RA Defense Minister captain A. Arakelyan,
informed the information and public relation department of the RA
Defense Ministry.
