SERZH SARGSYAN: ARMENIA, SPAIN CHERISH THE SAME VALUES

The newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to Armenia, March Pujol (seat
in Moscow) presented his credentials to the President of Armenia,
Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the newly appointed diplomat on assuming
office and expressed hope that he would make an important contribution
to the development of bilateral relations during his tenure in office.

"Armenia and Spain cherish the same values and have a long history
of culture, which creates good preconditions for the development of
cooperation," President Sargsyan said.

According to Ambassador Pujol, his country aspires to raise the
relations with Armenia to a level corresponding to the constantly
changing requirements of the globalizing world.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the possible directions of
cooperation.

They attached importance to the intensification of trade-economic
relations and formation of a necessary legal field.

President Sargsyan and Ambassador Pujol exchanged views on
Armenia-EU relations and the bilateral cooperation within that
framework. According to the Ambassador, Spain is going to assume EU
presidency next year and is about to take serious steps to develop
and deepen the relations.
