Representative of the Armenian National Congress youth wing Tigran
Arakelyan underwent an eye examination at the Malayan Optic Center
on Friday.
"Tigran has serious eye problems due to his eye nerve infection,"
Tigran Arakelyan’s advocate Varduhi Elbakyan told "A1+".
According to her, Tigran Arakelyan’s final conclusion will be handed
to him in a couple of days.
As far as charging Tigran Arakelyan with Part 2, Article 316 of the
Criminal Code [Dangerous assault against a state representative],
Varduhi Elbakyan told "A1+" that he had recently met with the
investigator. "He said that he would schedule a meeting to discuss
the matter," said the advocate.
Let us remind that Tigran Arakelyan is charged with Part 3, Article
258 of the Criminal Code [hooliganism] which foresees 5 years in jail
or a fine.
But on August 31, when this case was being examined at the first
instance court of the Kentron and Nork-Marash districts, the body
leading an investigation into the case confirmed that the injured
policeman Eric Poghosyan had received light physical injuries, which
corresponds to Part 2 of Article 316.
Tigran Arakelyan is currently at the general department of the
"Prisoners’ Hospital".
