Ruzan Arakelyan, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation
(ARF) parliamentary faction, believes it is quite normal that the
members of the Heritage faction should not join the ARF-organized
actions for amending the Armenian-Turkish Protocols.
According to her, the Heritage Party "has its own will" though the
Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovhannisyan put his signature to the
proposed amendments.
In her turn, the member of the Heritage faction Zaruhi Bostanjyan
pointed out that the party has its own program concerning the
Armenian-Turkish Protocols. The party proposed starting parliament
hearings from October 1. The party also proposed that the Government
hold a referendum on the Protocols, as well as on the confidence in
the President. Moreover, the party applied to the RA Constitutional
Court for organizing a discussion on the basis of the Regulations of
the RA National Assembly. The RA Parliament is supposed to make an
appraisal of the Protocols.
In response, Arakelyan accused Bostanjyan of not "averting the threats
[she herself is] creating."
Bostanjyan pointed out that many more people would join the ARF’s
actions of protest if they had greater confidence in the ARF leaders.
