After lengthy illness and serious operation, Armenian renowned
animator Robert Sahakiants died yesterday evening at the age of 59.

Sahakiants had a heart operation on September 23.

Robert Sahakiants graduated from Yerevan State Pedagogical
Institute. In 1970, he started working at Hayfilm (Armenfilm) Studio
as an animation artist and later as an animation director. He authored
around a hundred films and 33 animation films
