Armenian Diaspora representatives visit RA Embassy

September 24, Armenian Embassy in Washington hosted the
representatives of political parties, associations and religious
confessions, Asbarez daily reports. They met with RA Ambassador to
U.S. Tatoul Markarian to express concern over the initialed
Armenia-Turkey Protocols.

The delegation comprised representatives from the Eastern and Western
Prelacies of the Armenian Apostolic Church of America, the Eparchy of
the Armenian Catholic Church in the U.S. and Canada, Armenian
Missionary Association of America, the Hamazkayin Cultural and
Educational Association, Armenian Relief Society (ARS), Armenian Youth
Federation (AYF) and ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD).

The delegation handed a letter to Markarian, saying the Armenia-Turkey
Protocols aroused concern among Armenian U.S. community and entire
Diaspora.
`The letter rejected the idea of negotiating over historical matters
and stressed that the recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a
precondition to any negotiation. It also noted that recognizing
borders and territorial integrity means renouncing our struggle for
justice,’ the daily reports.
