ARMENIAN DELEGATION TO UN DISINFORMS AND PLAYS CAT AND MOUSE

ArmInfo. The delegation of Armenia to UN purposefully and impudently
ignores representatives of the national press despite multiple
statements of Armenian foreign minister about the necessity of
the informational work enhancing. As ArmInfo special correspondent,
which covers the debates at UN General Assembly in New York, reported,
numerous attempts to establish cooperation with the Armenian delegation
to UN, headed by the newly appointed special representative Karen
Nazaryan, failed. Nazaryan himself said he is too busy to give an
interview and can meet journalists only after ending of the debates on
30 September, as an employee of the delegation certain Inga said. To
be honest, Nazaryan corrected himself and added he is ready to answer
the questions via the e:mail but again after the 30 September and was
very kind to tell his e:mail address. The ArmInfo correspondent via the
e:mail was forced to forebearingly explain the newly appointed special
representative of Armenia to UN, which perhaps badly understands
the mission of the press and the tasks of the national mass media,
about the necessity of the operative delivery of information, so that
in case of partial propaganda by Azerbaijan one could neutralize it
and ensure informational balance at the informational market.

But obviously special representative did not care about these national
informational tasks, as there was absolute silence as a reply to the
emotional monologue. There was only one answer to all the attempts
to ask event about small details: "We don’t know!". Certain Lilit
from the delegation, allegedly responsible for some relations, did
not even take pains to take a call. The same Lilit gave the wrong
answer about the time when the main opponent of Armenia Azerbaijani
foreign minister is going to make a speech, as she wanted to get rid
of me as soon as possible. But what happened later cannot be at all
compared with this incompetence.

The event happened on 25 September, at the day when Armenian Foreign
Minister Edward Nalbandyan arrived in New York. Having again phoned
to ‘Inga’, which replied: ‘Delegation of Armenia in UN’, ArmInfo
correspondent asked about Nalbandyan’s meeting with the OSCE Minsk
Group co-chairs, and ‘Inga’ informed that the minister has already
arrived and absolutely rejected the possibility of his meeting the
co-chairs at the same day. But when it became clear next day ArmInfo
correspondent, indignant because of evident lies, phoned to inform
‘Inga’ about that. The latter confessed and said she does not have a
right to give information and got a rap over the knuckles as she gave
the information about the minister’s arrival. ArmInfo correspondent
thinks such an attitude of the Armenian delegation regarding Armenian
journalists as an obvious derision.

Evidently, this is just at attempt to hide their absolute incompetence
reaching ignorance. There has never been any clearance in the work
of the Armenian delegation to UN, and the same tendency is being
preserved after appointment of the new sorrow-diplomat. Actually,
what a victory in the information war you mean in such conditions
and with such staff, Mr.Foreign Minister?
